Catholic Schools week takes place from Monday, January 30th to Friday, February 03rd. As part of the schools activities for the week we will be having a grandparents day on Thursday, 02nd February. The day will be a celebration to recognise the very positive influence that grandparents have on their grandchildren. We are asking you too inform all grandparents and great-grandparents of children in the school about this special event.

Swimming sessions this year will commence on Friday 20th January 2012. It will be for classes 3rd to 6th classes included. The cost per child includes includes bus, pool and 4 instructors. There will be 7 sessions. Parents can choose to pay for all sessions (€44 per child), half the sessions (€22 per child) or per session (€6.30 per child).

As swimming is an integral part of the Primary School Curriculum all children must take part. Please note that the usual items of swimgear, cap and towels are necessary. please ensure that each child has goggles if required.

Remind children that standing in the bus is not allowed and seatbelts are to be worn at all times.

The dates for swimming are as follows;

January 20th, 27th

February 3rd, 10th, 24th

March 6th , 9th

Please note that the school will close for the Christmas Holidays on Thursday, 22nd December at 12:30 for all children.

The school will re-open again on Monday, 09th January 2012.

A huge congratulations to Rory Williams in 3rd class who had one of his pictures featured in a recent issue of the Dandy. Mr Cahill is particularly jealous as he used to read the Dandy all the time when he was young.

calendar 2011/2012

A big welcome back to all the students of Burnfort National School
and an even bigger welcome to the new Junior Infants class who started this
week.

Over the coming weeks and months we hope to make this website even
more user friendly with a list of upcoming events and special occasions. If you
have any suggestions or ideas about what we could include on the site we would
love to hear about them.

We hope that the coming school year will be our best yet.

The children of 2nd class will make their First Holy Communion this weekend.  Congratulations to Kate, Rebecca, Caitlin, Ellie, Emily, Evan, Jack, Tom, Seán, Rory, Leon, Oisín and Adam. Have a wonderful day.

Parent Teacher Meetiungs are taking place this Thursday, 18th November 2010.

The children will finish at 2.00pm and meetings will start from 2.30pm to 4.00pm and from 4.15pm to 6.00pm.  If you are unable to attend please contact the school to arange an alternative time.
